How it works
Each camera frame is passed to an image classifier trained on two classes:
- Danger: obstacles such as trees and power lines, plus unpredictable activity like a backflip on a bike. The drone should stop or steer away.
- Safe: open space and normal activity such as a person walking. The drone can continue.
Limitation: the model classifies the whole frame. It doesn't locate the obstacle or measure its distance, which a real drone would need from object detection and depth sensors.
